Help TARA’s Fund and Membership Drive

TARA is one of the most important organizations in Texas. Our organized  retiree activists strengthen other organizations and the entire progressive political effort. As we are chartered under section 501c4 of the tax code, we can and do endorse and boost candidates and political issues. As you might guess, it helps to have money.

We ask for a minimum $10/year per activist, $25/year for other local retiree organizations, $100 for Central Labor Councils, $300 for statewide unions, and $1,000 or more for larger organizations.

It’s good to have copies of a form to get more people to sign up as $10/year members: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1gnLsdAfj2Dvj73g68Z6Y3aVN-HGLyGgQ/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=113859410966632134337&rtpof=true&sd=true

Big donations make up most of our bank account, but the devoted activists who contribute smaller amounts monthly make more difference every year.  On-line donors can choose to make their donations “recurring” or “monthly” when they contribute at https://actionnetwork.org/fundraising/organize-for-the-right-to-retire?source=direct_link&, or by clicking the blue and yellow button under my signature.

I think these recurring sustainer payments are the most important kind of fund raising we do, because we are always looking for leaders.

Most of our donations come from checks sent to Treasurer Elaine Jones,  1402 Seville Circle, Portland, TX 78374.  Elaine can also arrange other kinds of bank transfers. Contact her at eijones1975@gmail.com.

National ARA like to get a form filled out by larger donors. The Google Doc form is at https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Sc8YFe-X-UiKXTEV4U_q6iVH3sPO6JJB/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=113859410966632134337&rtpof=true&sd=true. If you fill it out, send it to our Treasurer.

If you want to make sure retirement benefits endure or get better, you can’t go wrong by helping the Texas Alliance for Retired Americans!
