TARA In Legal Fight for Voting Rights

The long legal fight for Texas retiree voting rights, like the wheels of justice, grinds slowly on. At a short on-line conference with lawyers on June 21, 2023, Organizer Judy Bryant and President Gene Lantz were told that we may finally go to trial on September 11 in federal court in San Antonio.

The Alliance for Retired Americans has been fighting voter suppression at every level, including in court, for many years. Attorneys like Marcos Mocine-McQueen are smiling because a successful end may be in sight. Similar lawsuits in other voter suppression states have already shown that the legal tactic is working.
