More Ways for Seniors to Make a Difference!

As the Fort Worth retiree chapter meeting nears, even more opportunities for seniors have come up. We’re calling right now for pension justice, and we’re planning a rally on May 24th.

Chapter President Jim Rivers writes: “Even thought they held an obscenely gleeful public party to flaunt their votes for the American Health Care Act (AHCA), only 14 of the 217 House Republicans have had the guts to hold Town Halls during their recess.

‘Now it is in the Senate and we must apply all of the pressure we can to stop this atrocity. Call, email, write, march, demonstrate, visit offices, whatever you can do to block the AHCA before its passage results in more unnecessarily untreated illnesses and deaths.
‘Furthermore, we must press for wider health care coverage so that all medical resources available can be provided for every one of us.
‘THIS IS NO TIME TO BE IDLE.

Rally for Health Care and Fair Banking

We’ll rally at Congressman Hensarling’s office, 6510 Abrams Rd in Dallas, at 4 PM on Wednesday, May 24. Jeb Hensarling voted to undermine our health care, and now he wants to release the bankers from the regulations that came after they nearly destroyed our economy in the Great Recession. Texas Organizing Project initiated this rally. They were joined by TARA and the AFL-CIO.
