Go Vote!

TARA President Tony Padilla reminds everyone to please Go Vote during Early Voting from now until November 1 or on November 5 Election Day. There are 10 Constitutional Amendments on the ballot and many areas have Municipal Elections, plus there are Special Elections for Texas HD 28, 100 and 148.

EARLY VOTING RALLY IN DALLAS

CWA 6215 and TARA held their regular Early Voting Rally in downtown Dallas across from the George Allen Courts Building to encourage voters to cast their ballots between October 21 and November 1. Election Day is November 5. TARA participants were Secretary Gene Lantz, activist Eddie Morgan and  Field  Organizer Judy Bryant, who joined CWA 6215 Executive Vice President Earnest Tilley and Treasurer Anita Learned.  Dallas AFL-CIO Political Director Lorraine Montemayor, Labor and TARA endorsed Texas HD 100 candidate Lorraine Birabil and campaign manager Emily Englander, plus Ride Share 2 Vote’s Craig McDaniel all waved signs and did chants to alert voters.

TARA STANDS IN SOLIDARITY WITH CHICAGO TEACHERS!

TARA stands in solidarity with the Chicago Teachers Union as they hit the picket lines for a strike. One of the biggest issues: no movement by Chicago schools to prevent excessively large class sizes.

Chicago Mayor Lightfoot promised to do more for Chicago kids and schools like fully staffing schools with nurses, librarians and counselors, creating safe and welcoming environments and bringing down class sizes at every grade level. Now, the mayor needs to put these promises in writing. The Chicago Teacher’s Union wants a contract that’s about justice, equity and fairness for their schools.
