TARA Stands for Medicaid Expansion

TARA ATTENDS LET THE PEOPLE VOTE! TEXAS RALLY FOR MEDICAID EXPANSION

Judy Bryant TARA Field Organizer, Tony Padilla TARA President and Austin Chapter President Jack McCabe attended the Let The People Vote Rally on the south Capitol steps, joining many other groups in freezing temps. They want Medicaid Expansion on the ballot to let the people decide to expand Medicaid. Judy sent out a clear message with her state senator Nathan Johnson of Dallas at her side. She addressed that TARA has long been part of a coalition called Cover Texas Now which advocates for expanding Medicaid in our state.Bryant said, “We want to vote on Medicaid Expansion because we care about over a million low income Texans, including many seniors not yet Medicare eligible, who are caught in the Coverage Gap. This means they have incomes above Medicaid eligibility, but below the limit for ACA marketplace subsidies. Many of these people get no treatment for dangerous chronic health conditions and may even die. This is not acceptable! We say Let Texans Vote to Expand Medicaid!”
