Take Action on Tuesday!
Demonstrate with Us!
- Protest at 11:45AM on October 24
- Belo Garden Park, Across from the Federal Building
- 1014 Main Street, Dallas TX
As we feared and fought against, Congress completed its approval of the Republican budget resolution on October 19. If the actual budget and appropriations have the same features, we will see the end of Medicare as we know it. Social Security Disability Insurance and other important programs will be chopped. Medicaid will suffer a $trillion$ dollar cut! Tax cuts will go mainly to the rich.
The Noose is Tightening Around our Necks
But the gallows trapdoor is not yet sprung. We will fight on! Given the close vote on October 19, we still have a good chance of winning. But we have to join together and take action now!
Early Voting is Underway
Early voting will continue until November 3. The Dallas AFL-CIO has published these recommendations:

- AGAINST: Proposition 2 and 4
City of Dallas Proposition
- FOR: Propositions A-J
Dallas County School Board Special Election

Transit Fare Hike Vote Imminent
The Dallas Chapter of Texas Alliance for Retired Americans voted to oppose the fare hike proposed to the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Board. They meet at 6:30 PM on October 24 at 1401 Pacific in Dallas. The North Texas Transit Riders are asking everyone to tell the DART Board to say “no to the rate hike!”
