Retirees Spread the Word for Labor Day

“I’m telling everybody I can,” responded Gary Livingston when asked if he was supporting the Tarrant County Labor Day picnic scheduled for 1 PM on Sunday, September 6, at Chisholm Park, 2200 Norwood in Hurst. Livingston’s help makes a lot of difference because of the long years he has been working political campaigns. He knows just about every political activist in the county. Also, his union, United Auto Workers Local 218, is located near Chisholm Park.

The Texas Alliance for Retired Americans has distributed over 1,200 leaflets, mostly to retirees, so far. We’ve publicized Labor Day events on KNON radio 89.3 FM (9 AM every Saturday), on the internet, and through announcements at meetings. This year above all years, retirees are participating in Labor Day events. There are two very good reasons:

1. Retirees are in a lot of danger from the present congress and need all the friends we can contact

2. Labor Day launches the all-important 2015/2016 political season

Our listing of labor day events is here on this site. Our top activists in Dallas, Ft Worth, Austin, El Paso, and Corpus Christi are committed to participating in Labor Day activities, and we urge all Texas seniors to do the same!

Thanks
