Retirees Get a Little Help from Our Friends

United Auto Workers Local 218 in Hurst, Texas, bought 6 tickets to the Texas Alliance for Retired Americans fundraiser set for 6 PM on May 29 at 2218 E Main in Grand Prairie. They used some of them for door prizes during their drawing. The lucky winners will get to interact with Congressman Marc Veasey, who is being honored at the fundraiser, and some of the top activists from North Texas!

A lot of people bought tickets and made donations to help the Texas Alliance carry out the fight for seniors’ rights. Among the most important ones were:

APWU Retirees

CWA/RMC District 6

CWA/RMC 6201

Teamsters Local 767

The program at the fundraiser will also list others who have helped the retirees during 2015, including these:

Alliance/AFT

Collin County Democrats

Dallas AFL-CIO

Fort Worth Building Trades Council

Ironworkers 263

Curtis & Jane Hoffman

Tarrant County AFL-CIO

Texas AFSCME

Texas AFT

Texas Fair Trade Watch

UAW 218

UAW 848

UAW Southwest States

The agenda for Friday night’s festivities will be short. Here is the plan:

Dinner catered by Desperadoes

Tributes to the champion of working families: Congressman Marc Veasey

Response by Congressman Veasey

Please join us. We need you at the fundraiser and we need you for the battles to come!
