Dallas Chapter Meets Wednesday, Feb 4

American Retirees Are On the Move!

Our first big opportunity to visit Congresspersons is the week of February 16-21. National Executive Director Rich Fiesta urges us to see as many of them face-to-face as we can during their week in home districts. This will be a major topic of the Dallas Chapter meeting. Organizer Judy Bryant writes:

“Welcome to a number of new members who have recently joined our chapter to Fight For The Right To Retire! We hope that you can all join us for our February TARA meeting where we will discuss our recent successful convention in Austin;  learn about attacks on Social Security and Medicare; hear a report on the Senior Source Legislative Forum and make final plans for Senior Day!  Please plan to join us on our bus trip to Austin on Tuesday, February 17 as we join people from across the state to Speak Out for Seniors!  Please bring your check book in order to make the $25 refundable deposit for this event.

Postal Way intersects the service road on Hiway 30 near the Hampton Road exit. Do not try to turn on Hampton.

Even before the Dallas Meeting, retiree activists may want to see a movie on efforts to steal American democracy. “Pay2Play” exposes the “Citizens United” Supreme Court decision and other big-money efforts to destroy democracy. I’ll be hosting the discussion after the movie.

  • 7 PM Tuesday, Feb 3
  • Unitarian Universalist Church
  • 3839 W. Kiest Blvd, Dallas

The Dallas meeting will also be encouraging Texans to accompany me to the national meeting in Washington DC on July 7th and to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Medicare on July 30. We want events everywhere. We’re already scheduling one in Hurst.
