Plan New Actions After Great Labor Day Weekend

WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 3, 2014, 12:30-2 PM, APWU HALL, 2010 POSTAL WAY, DALLAS 75212

President George Nolan invites us to review recent TARA actions such as speaking at the Commissioner’s Court about  raising wages; the Defending Our Dream Health Care Rally, The Labor Day March and Picnic, the Labor Dav Breakfast and the Labor Day picnic.  Members will learn about opportunities to register voters and volunteer for Alliance for Retired Americans candidates. Your best thinking will be needed as we talk about Grandparents Day, September 7, and our efforts to get seniors to increase their political clout by voting by mail.

Organizer Judy Bryant and President Gene Lantz expect to attend a meeting of Transport Workers Union retirees early Wednesday morning, so we’ll be able to report on that as well. One idea concerning Grandparents Day is to publicize the fact that many American grandparents are raising their grandkids. Some statistics are available on line.
