Fort Worth Chapter Meets

The Fort Worth Chapter meets at Furr’s Cafeteria

The Fort Worth Chapter of the Texas Alliance for Retired Americans met at Furr’s Cafeteria on August 20. President Jim Rivers reported on the Town Hall meeting conducted by retiree friend Congressman Marc Veasey. The Congressman talked about the anniversary of Social Security, which was August 14. Rivers also talked about ways that retirees might help the United Way effort in Tarrant County. Another discussion was on the role that Congressman Paul Ryan has in building proposed budgets that slash the throats of retired Americans.

Jim Rivers is one of a growing number of retirees who have set up a monthly contribution to the Texas Alliance. While the others have used the PayPal account from this web site, Rivers did his through his bank. “It was easy,” he said. Rivers did it on line but he said that anybody could do it by contacting their bank in person or by phone.
