Anybody who hasn’t voted in the primary election yet has only one last chance, Tuesday, March 4. To find out where your precinct will vote, see the Dallas County Election Department’s pdf posted here Please vote, it makes a difference!

Celebrate!

The next day, we’ll be discussing election outcomes with Charletta Comptone , Outreach Liaison for Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson. We’ll also party and celebrate the birthday of the Affordable Care Act. We’ll share information about the many benefits of the ACA, both now and in the future.

Protest A.L.E.C.!

All over the nation, coalitions are forming to protest the American Legislative Exchange Council when it gathers its right-wing politicians, legislative experts, and corporate lobbyists for a national convention in Dallas July 30-August 1. Check out the web site, “A.L.E.C. Exposed” where they explain “ALEC corporations and their legislative partners would privatize Medicare, deregulate health insurers, protect negligent doctors, and cut holes in the safety net. These anti-patient “model bills” advance the interests of global drug companies and the health insurance industry, while eroding the rights and health of Americans.”

Support the Texas Alliance for Retired Americans

We’re proud that we took part in 67 public activities last year. We visited congresspersons, held meetings, talked to newspersons, and protested on sidewalks all through 2013. This year, with your help, we’ll do even more. You can take out an individual membership for $10 or make a donation of any size on line by clicking here. By mail, make checks to “Texas Alliance for Retired Americans” and send to Treasurer Elaine Jones, 4455 SPID Suite 48, Corpus Christi, TX 78411-5115.

 With love & solidarity,

–Gene Lantz, President
