Representative Roberto Alonzo at Social Security Celebration

State Representative Roberto will join the Texas Alliance for Retired Americans and United Auto Workers Local 848 retirees to present a celebration of the 80th anniversary of Social Security. Participants will commit themselves to expanding the program so that it will continue to provide the major financial security for seniors and the disabled in America. The anniversary comes at a time when many politicians are trying to cut or undermine the program. The present congress even manufactured a crisis by blocking transfers from different parts of the overall Social Security program. They could solve that “crisis” as easily as they created it at the first of the session!
