Austin Retirees Reach Out
At least five top activists from the Austin Chapter of the Texas Alliance for Retired Americans pitched in to help with the Employee Retirement System (ERS) fair on September 2. The ERS is vital to tens of thousands of state employees who depend on it for their pensions. Sometimes it seems that the State Legislature is insensitive to retirees; consequently, ERS is always an important arena of struggle for all Texas retirees.
Every time that Alliance activists see an opportunity to stand up for retirees, we jump in. As a result, we continue to meet and start working with the very best retiree activists in the state! Dallas activists have already committed to working at the ERS Fair when it comes to the Doubletree Hotel, 8250 N. Central Expressway, on September 14.
